Founded in the 9th century, Fez reached its height in the 13th to 14th centuries when it replaced Marrakesh as the capital of the kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-02-52-02.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-04-02-21.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The medina of Fez (\u0641\u0627\u0633 \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0627\u0644\u064a,) is listed as a World Heritage Site and is the world's oldest urban pedestrian zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-03-54-57.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-04-17-50.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fes is hot in the daytime, so most shops are open at night.  These shops mainly sell Moroccan products such as this traditional pastry made from flour and butter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-03-54-48.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/morocco_2019\/20190413-03-58-48.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>These colorful things are actually Nougat (Persian: \u0646\u0648\u0642\u0627).
