The primary public areas of the park are the South and North Rims, there are many attractions on the South Rim, Desert View is amongst the most popular ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-44-35.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-48-32.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Grand Canyon is 446 kilometers long and 1,200 meters deep on average, it was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-46-59.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-50-02.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Desert View is the eastern-most developed area on the South Rim of the park, as the name suggests, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the desert here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-51-42.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-51-12.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Grand Canyon mid-air collision occurred around here on June 30, 1956, all 128 on board both collided flights perished, making it the first commercial airline incident to exceed one hundred fatalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-54-39.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/usa_2018\/20180404-06-55-50.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the Watchtower was constructed in 1932.
