Lixia Pavilion (Chinese: \u6b77\u4e0b\u4ead) is located on an island off the lake's east shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-28-15.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-21-38.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lixia Pavilion has a long history. Its predecessor was a seeing-off pavilion in the Northern Wei (\u5317\u9b4f) Dynasty (5th century AD). It was originally located near Baotu Spring (\u8db5\u7a81\u6cc9), and it was renamed Lixia Pavilion in the Tang (\u5510) Dynasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-21-43.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-19-46.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lixia Pavilion is said to mark the spot of a meeting between the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu (\u675c\u752b; 712-770) and the calligrapher Li Yong (\u674e\u9095; 678-747).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-22-49.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-21-20.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The pavilion was rebuilt in 1693 and features inscriptions by Emperor Kangxi (\u5eb7\u7199) of Qing (\u6e05) Dynasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-14-59.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-14-41.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to Lixia Pavilion is an imperial monument of Emperor Qianlong (\u4e7e\u9686), but it was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-13-47.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-13-55.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Daming Lake Park covers a total area of 860,000 square meters of which the lake itself comprises 460,000 square meters. The lake is fed by the artesian karst springs of Jinan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-21-58.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/shandong_2018\/20181223-14-23-18.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From Lixia Pavilion you can overlook Huxin Pavilion (\u6e56\u5fc3\u4ead). Huxin Pavilion was built in the Song (\u5b8b) Dynasty, but the original building has long since disappeared.
