It was built for Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh, the twelfth Emperor of the Nguy\u1ec5n dynasty. The tomb is a blend of Western and Eastern architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-13-09.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-10-02.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Emperor Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh (ch\u1eef H\u00e1n: \u5553\u5b9a) was the 12th Emperor of the Nguy\u1ec5n Dynasty in Vietnam, reigning from 1916 to 1925.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-09-18.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-08-52.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Emperor Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh's unpopularity reached its peak in 1923 when he authorized the French to raise taxes on the Vietnamese peasants, part of which was to pay for the building of his palatial tomb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-16-34.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-11-30.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of the tomb began in 1920 and concluded in 1931, with the Emperor increasing tax by 30 percent to fund the lavish mausoleum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-10-31.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-13-55.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a number of Vietnamese emperors, Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh desired the preparation of a tomb in anticipation of his death, but he was the last member of the Nguy\u1ec5n Dynasty to make this decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-11-52.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-11-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a small exhibition hall in the main hall, displaying the artifacts used by Emperor Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh during his lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-16-07.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/vietnam_2015\/20150619-13-15-44.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\u8d8a\u5357\u907a\u7522\u4e4b\u65c52015\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/southeastasia\/travel_vietnam_15_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vietnam\u2019s heritage 2015 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomb of Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh (Vietnamese: L\u0103ng Kh\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ecbnh), officially \u1ee8ng Mausoleum (\u1ee8ng l\u0103ng), is located in Chau Chu mountain near Hu\u1ebf in Vietnam.
