Cijin Island was once connected to the mainland at the southern tip, but in 1967, this link was severed to create a second entry point to the Port of Kaohsiung (\u9ad8\u96c4\u6e2f).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2311.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2312.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Cijin has a big beach, the locals still prefer swim in Kenting (\u58be\u4e01), since the beaches in Kenting are much more beautiful and cleaner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2371.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2353.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the northern end of Cijin Island, also the entrance and exit of the Port of Kaohsiung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2328.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2329.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cijin forms the original core of the Kaohsiung, which was established by a fisherman named Hsu Ah-hua (\u5f90\u963f\u83ef) in the mid-17th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2330.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2333.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the breakwater, you can see a red signal tower, the twinkling red light looks so romantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2350.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/taiwan_2010\/20101128-2347.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The scenery of Cijin is very beautiful and it is not too far from the downtown of Kaohsiung.
