This park was built to commemorate XuFu (Chinese: \u5f90\u798f), or Jofuku, a scholar who searching for the elixir of life on the order of Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang (\u79e6\u59cb\u7687) around 2200 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-18-13.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-19-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>XuFu was a Chinese alchemist and explorer, he served as a court sorcerer in Qin (\u79e6) Dynasty (221-207 BC) of China. XuFu was sent by Qin Shi Huang to the eastern seas twice to look for the elixir of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-20-20.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-23-16.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The two journeys of XuFu occurred between 219 BC and 210 BC. It was believed that XuFu came to Japan with 3000 boys and girls in his second journey, he settled down in Shingu and never returned to China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-20-09.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014a\/2014-12-02-13-19-54.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>XuFu was said to be buried where the park is, there is also a big gravestone in the park.
