The relic has almost 2,000 years of history but is still well preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-14-58-44.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-14-59-03.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After Han Emperor Wu (\u6f22\u6b66\u5e1d; 141BC - 87BC) occupied the Hexi Corridor (\u6cb3\u897f\u8d70\u5eca), he gave orders for the construction of the Great Wall so as to consolidate the safety of Gansu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-15-00-57.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-15-01-56.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The wall is around 402 meters long, and the remaining ramparts have a height of almost 4 meters, a bottom width of 3 meters, and a top width of 1.5 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-14-59-10.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-14-59-51.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to natural erosion, the coating of the wall has long been peeled out, so you can see the structure of the wall clearly. Sand and plants were added by putting one on top of another, tough as steel and concrete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-14-51-56.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/gansu_14\/2014-06-02-15-01-10.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gobi Desert (Mongolian: \u182d\u1823\u182a\u1822) is a large desert or brushland region in East Asia.
