Kurazukuri District provides a nostalgic scene from the Edo Period (\u6c5f\u6236\u6642\u4ee3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-14-54-34.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-14-51-32.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Edo period (\u6c5f\u6238\u6642\u4ee3) or Tokugawa period (\u5fb3\u5ddd\u6642\u4ee3) is between 1603 and 1867 in the history of Japan, when Japan was under the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate and the country's 300 regional feudal lords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-31-06.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-23-25.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Time Bell Tower (\u6642\u306e\u9418) is the landmark of Kurazukuri District, It is a 16 meters high three-story tower with a bell about 700 kg in weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-09-45.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-15-25.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The word \u2018kura\u2019 (\u8535) means \u2018warehouse\u2019 in Japanese, and Kurazukuri are clay-walled warehouse-styled buildings that are constructed with an Edo architectural flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-08-52.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-14-56-49.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, Japanese cities consisted almost exclusively of wooden buildings, which made them vulnerable to fires. Kurazukuri construction was used both to make a structure fireproof and to secure it against intruders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-16-29.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-25-56.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the shops are selling local products or traditional handicrafts, the price is reasonable and most of the goods are made in Japan, it is a good place to buy souvenirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-07-55.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2014\/2014-02-18-15-28-41.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kawagoe was an important commercial town supplying resources to Edo (\u6c5f\u6236, present day Tokyo).
