{"id":4081,"date":"2021-06-12T18:04:29","date_gmt":"2021-06-12T10:04:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/info.thetravel.me\/?p=4081"},"modified":"2021-06-12T18:05:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-12T10:05:00","slug":"largest-buddha-of-shaanxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/info.thetravel.me\/en\/largest-buddha-of-shaanxi\/","title":{"rendered":"Largest Buddha in Shaanxi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dafosi Grottoes (Chinese: \u5927\u4f5b\u5bfa\u77f3\u7a9f) is located at the foot of Qingliang (\u79e6\u5dba) mountain beside Jing River (\u6d87\u6c34), ten thousand meters west of Binxian (\u5f6c\u7e23) County, Xianyang (\u54b8\u967d) City, Shaanxi (\u965d\u897f) Province, is the largest group of Grottoes in Shaanxi Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1551.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1552.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dafosi grottoes were first excavated in the Northern Dynasties (\u5317\u671d; AD386-577) and basically completed in the second year of the reign of Emperor Taizong (\u5510\u592a\u5b97; AD628) in the early Tang Dynasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1556.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1603.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Great Buddha cave is the center of the whole temple, and also the largest cave in the Great Buddha Temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1635.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1614-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Great Buddha statue sits in the middle of the cave, it is 20 meters high and 13 meters wide, the largest in Shaanxi Province. The figure is solemn, dignified and majestic, unfortunately, there are many ugly scaffoldings around the statue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1619-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1623.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two Bodhisattvas on both sides of the Great Buddha. On the west side is Guanyin (\u89c0\u97f3) Bodhisattva, and on the east side is Dashizhi (\u5927\u52e2\u81f3) Bodhisattva, but the cave is too dark, you cannot see them clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1614-4.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1621-6.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Qianfo Cave (\u5343\u4f5b\u6d1e) is located at the east of the Great Buddha cave, the cave has 696 statues.
