Kongtong Mountains is the holy mountain of Taoismis, which is noted for its marvelous natural scenery and exquisite man made landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1055-4.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1056-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is said that Taoism temples were being built on Kongtong Mountains as early as in the Wei (220-265 AD) and Jin (265-420 AD) Dynasties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1053-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1049.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The legendary Chinese emperor and the father of Chinese culture, Huangdi (\u9ec3\u5e1d), had visited Kongtong Mountains to consult the immortal Guang Chengzi (\u5ee3\u57ce\u5b50) on how to manage the country and maintain good health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1105.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1120.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R-YCOFeDExY\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Later on, the King of the Western Zhou (\u897f\u5468) Dynasty (11th century BC-771 BC), the Emperor of the Qin (\u79e6) Dynasty (221-207 BC) and the Emperor of the Western Han (\u897f\u6f22) Dynasty (206 BC-24 AD), had also visited the Kongtong Mountains, which made Kongtong Mountains more famous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1114.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1115-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The scenic area of Kongtong Mountains can be divided into two parts: the Taoist area and the Buddhist area, while the Taoist area is more beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1117-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1145.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kongtong Mountains is a branch of Liupan Mountains (\u516d\u76e4\u5c71). Though located in the western plateau area, the mountain is endowed with the characteristics of both the magnificence of northern mountains and the beauty of southern mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1127-4.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1130-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Leizu (Chinese: \u5ad8\u7956) was a legendary Chinese empress and wife of the Huangdi, so there is also a temple for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1137.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130411-1138-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Zhongling (\u4e2d\u5dba) area has several restaurants and hotels. The restaurant here serves vegetarian dishes only since Kongtong Mountains is also the holy place of Buddhism.
