The construction of Xumishan Grottoes began in the Northern Wei (\u5317\u9b4f) Dynasty (A.D. 368-534).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1447.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1455.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Xumishan Grottoes has been subdivided into 5 scenic sites, Yuanguang Temple (\u5713\u5149\u5bfa) is one of the most popular sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1448.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1449.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of Yuanguang Temple began in the Northern Song (\u5317\u5b8b) dynasty (A.D. 960-1127), it was reconstructed in the Ming dynasty (A.D. 1443), but was extirpated in an earthquake in the early 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1458.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1505-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Photo taking is not allowed in the grottoes, but Choumeizai still manages to take some photos, no flash of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1511-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1509-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a small hill behind Yuanguang Temple, from the top of the hill you can enjoy the panoramic view of Xumishan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1531-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130410-1528-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 130 grottoes in Xumishan, some grottoes do not have any decorative elements.
