Indonesian batik of Indonesia is amongst the best-known, but the resist dyeing in Kandy (Sinhala: \u0db8\u0dc4\u0db1\u0dd4\u0dc0\u0dbb) of Sri Lanka is also exquisite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/srilanka_2015\/2015-01-13-11-58-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/srilanka_2015\/2015-01-13-12-15-50.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Methods of resist dyeing are used to \u2018resist\u2019 or prevent the dye from reaching all the cloth, thereby creating a pattern and ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/srilanka_2015\/2015-01-13-12-13-16.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/srilanka_2015\/2015-01-13-12-16-06.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The most common resist is wax, melted wax or some form of paste is applied to cloth before being dipped in dye.
