In Islam, Juma (Arabic: \u062c\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0639\u064e\u0629\u200e; literally meaning \u2018Friday\u2019) is the holiest day of the week on which special congregational prayers are offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-26-01.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-26-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The mosque was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656 and was constructed by more than 5000 workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-30-29.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-29-04.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The mosque was planned to be a larger planned city named Shahjahanabad and it is considered as the best among all mosques built during the Mughal Empire as it has the best mixture of marble and limestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-29-58.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-30-37.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shah Jahan (Persian: \u0634\u0627\u0647 \u062c\u0647\u0627\u0646\u200e, literally meaning\u2009\u2018King of the World\u2019) was the fifth Mughal emperor, and reigned from 1628 to 1658. Under his reign, the Mughal Empire reached the peak of its cultural glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"415\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-37-46.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/india_2017\/20170128-13-40-33.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of the construction at the time was one million Rupees.
