Besides the first prehistoric archaeological site in China, Shuidonggou also has the relics of the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0919.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0930-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1923, two French biologists dug out a large number of stone tools and animal fossils in Shuidonggou, making it China\u2019s earliest excavated site of the Old Stone Age (300 million to 10 thousand years ago) and the \u2018Birthplace of Prehistoric Archaeology in China\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0929.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0935.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside the museum, there is a Late Paleolithic archaeological site, the construction of the above ground has long gone, only the base is left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0952-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0956-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Zhang San Xiaodian (\u5f35\u4e09\u5c0f\u5e97) was an old guesthouse where the two French biologists stayed, now it becomes one of the tourist attractions in Shuidonggou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0946-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0950-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some \u2018props\u2019 outside the Zhang San Xiaodian, which looks like a cowboy movie set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-0951-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shuidonggou Great Wall was an important defense base during the Ming Dynasty. Shuidonggou preserves a number of military relics, such as beacon, fortress and military base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-1014-6.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-1011-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourists can climb up the relics and enjoy the panoramic view of the desert around Shuidonggou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-1011.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/ningxia_2013\/20130407-1014-5.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The relics of the Great Wall at the Shuidonggou Site are known today as the East Line of the Ming Great Wall.
