The palace was the official residence of Manchukuo (\u6eff\u5dde\u570b).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-17-09.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-35-08.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The palace covers an area of 43,000 square meters which is extremely big, so the tourist center provides headsets for visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-19-06.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-27-47.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The palace was created by the Imperial Japanese Army for China's last emperor Puyi (\u6ea5\u5100) to live in as part of his role as Emperor of the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-35-54.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-36-10.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind the main gate Xingyun Gate (\u8208\u904b\u9580) is a clock, the hands of clock stopped at 9 o\u2019clock past 10, the time when Puyi escaped from the palace on 11 August 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-37-24.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-37-55.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yinghui Gate (\u8fce\u6689\u9580) is the second main gate of the palace, the word \u2018\u6689\u2019 is composed of \u2018\u65e5\u2019 and \u2018\u8ecd\u2019, which means Japanese Army in Chinese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-37-08.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-38-36.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Manchurian Imperial Palace was designed as a miniature version of the Forbidden City in Beijing, which is a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Russian styles, a silent witness of this place in that era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-38-03.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-39-59.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The western imperial garden is quite small, but it still includes a rockery, a pond and a Japanese styled pavilion, Choumeizai wonders if Puyi can enjoy such pale scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-41-20.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/notheeast_2013\/122309-44-22.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/china_taiwan\/travel_northeast_13_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Frozen in Northeast 2013 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo (Chinese: \u507d\u6eff\u7687\u5bae\u535a\u7269\u9662) is a museum in the northeastern corner of Changchun (\u9577\u6625)  City, Jilin (\u5409\u6797) Province, northeast China.
