First built by Russian troops in 1902, Lushun Prison was later used and extended by the Japanese army in 1907, the prison had been abandoned after 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian653.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian618.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nowadays, the prison stands as a historical monument to commemorate the dark period in Chinese history and opens to the public as a museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian639.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian643.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The prison is around 26,000 square meters, including approximately 15 factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian637.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/bejing_dalian_2009\/dalian641.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside the prison proper were corridors of prison cells that housed 6 to 8 prisoners per cell.
