From the start of the Empire (27 BC) Augustus built his palace there and the hill gradually became the exclusive domain of emperors; the ruins of the palaces of Augustus (27 BC \u2013 14 AD), Tiberius (14 \u2013 37 AD) and Domitian (81 \u2013 96 AD) can still be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/italy_2016\/20160603-19-51-02.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/italy_2016\/20160603-19-53-07.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Palatine Museum (Italian: Antiquarium del Palatino) is founded in the second half of the 19th century, it houses sculptures, fragments of frescoes, and archaeological material discovered on the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/italy_2016\/20160603-19-54-53.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/italy_2016\/20160603-19-55-11.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Imperial palaces were built here, starting with Augustus.
