Lembeh Island is 25km long and 2km wide. Lembeh Island is separated from the mainland of Sulawesi by a narrow stretch of water known as the Lembeh Strait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-47-15.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-50-25.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the people living in Lembeh reside in the west, since Bitung is on the west side of the island. Choumeizai has visited one of the villages on the west of Lembeh named Pintu Kota, which means \u2018Threshold to the city\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-47-50.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-49-08.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The village has electricity and tap water, although it is quite modernized, the villagers are still simple and friendly, they will smile at tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-52-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-11-40.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the villagers work in the dive resorts around the village, that\u2019s why their living standards are much better than those who are engaged in fishery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-15-58-58.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-00-35.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Christianity was \u2018shipped\u2019 by the Dutch colonists 400 years ago and has been the main religion of Pintu Kota since then, so  in the church there is a boatlike altar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-05-45.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-06-17.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the way back to the resort, Choumeizai finds that there is so much garbage around the seashore, although the villagers turn a blind eye on it, Choumeizai feel so guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-20-16.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/Indonesia_2016\/20160916-16-16-22.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/southeastasia\/travel_indonesia_16_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manado's Delight 2016 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pulau Lembeh is an island off the north east coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia, near the city of Bitung.
