Mountain Resort was the temporary imperial residence of the emperor during summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2389.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2393.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The palace wall surrounding Mountain Resort is 3 meters high and around 10 kilometers long, so it is named \u2018Little Great Wall\u2019, since the wall is orange in color, it also has a nickname of \u2018Tiger skin\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2425.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2443.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From the top of the palace wall, you can overlook the \u2018Eight Big Temples of Chengde (\u516b\u5927\u5edf)\u2019, those temples are gilded in golden yellow by the sunset, looks incredibly beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2450.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2446.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The palace zone of Mountain Resort is a vast complex of palaces and administrative and ceremonial buildings, which is around 100,000 square meters big.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2417.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/hebei2010\/20100930-2402.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kangxi (\u5eb7\u7199) Emperor spent a total of 12 summers while the Qianlong (\u4e7e\u9686) Emperor spent 52 summers in Mountain Resort during the course of their reign.
