It was built in around 1760 and is over 200 years old. Since Yuzitanwei has been making wine long time ago, it is also called \u2018Hakka Wine Castle\u2019 (\u5ba2\u5bb6\u9152\u5821).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1017-6.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1018.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are around 120 old buildings inside and four pillboxes at the four corners of Yuzitanwei, which makes it look like a big castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1020-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1021-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The ancestral hall is the center of Yuzitanwei, but after the cultural revolution, only the Chairman Mao can be worshipped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1021-5.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1025.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the local people have gone to big cities, only old people and kids are left, such serenity makes Yuzitanwei more charming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1021-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1023-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the old buildings have long been abandoned, look dark and spooky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1036-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1026.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a clean little stream right next to Yuzitanwei, it is said that all wines of Yuzitanwei are made from the water here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1038-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1041-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yuzitanwei is quite desolate, which is quite difficult to be reached by tourists, it looks like a peaceful village than a cheesy tourist attraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/jiangxi_2013\/20130331-1038-6.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/china_taiwan\/travel_jiangxi_13_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hakka's walled village 2013 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yuzitanwei (Chinese: \u6f01\u4ed4\u6f6d\u570d)  is located in Ganzhou (\u8d63\u5dde), the south of Jiangxi Province (\u6c5f\u897f), China.
