of Okunikko"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nikk\u014d (Japanese: \u65e5\u5149) is a city located in Tochigi Prefecture of Japan, it has a peaceful haven named Okunikko (\u5967\u65e5\u5149) which has long been a popular destination for escaping the heat of summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021031.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021022.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though in midsummer, Okunikko is still much cooler than Tokyo, and the green here makes you feel very comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021024-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021034-3.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Choumeizai notices that the tree trunks here are covered by nets, which are used to prevent the moss being eaten by the wild deers, no wonder the air quality is excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021021.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021021-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting from Lake Yunoko (\u6e6f\u30ce\u6e56), after you have gone through Yu waterfall (\u6e6f\u6edd)  Kotaki (\u5c0f\u6edd), the hiking trail is flat and shady all the way, fit for families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021034.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021042-4.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to the Izumiyado Pond (\u6cc9\u9580\u6c60) is a big and clean picnic area with tables and benches, an ideal place for taking a rest and having lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/map06.webp\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021036-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>From here you can see a swamp with bushy plantations, a little duck standing on the red water surface, beautiful as a painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021039-2.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A big plain named Senj\u014dgahara (\u6226\u5834\u30f6\u539f)  is not far from Izumiyado Pond, not many trees around here, you\u2019d better put some sunblock before you get through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/map07.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/japan_2011\/1107021105.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Senj\u014dgahara is 1400 metres above sea-level, its area is around 4 square kilometres, the biggest highland marsh in Honshu (\u672c\u5dde, the main island of Japan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"417\" can be translated as 'battlefield' but refers to a mythical battle, not to any historical one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Senj\u014dgahara is very big, but along the hiking trail there are several lookouts, you can get some rest or take some photos of the wild
