src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-13-59-32.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha, it has a number of older temples and various new temples from various countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-45-59.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-14-15-01.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sacred Garden is the core of the holy site of Lumpini, besides Maya Devi Temple in which Buddha was born, there are also many relics of Buddhism inside, you need to buy a ticket and undergo a security check to get in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-14-44-32.webp\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-39-11.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The old temples have become ruins, only the red bricked plinth and a big old tree left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" small Buddha statue under the big old tree, in front of the statue scatter many offerings, which attract some rats partying around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-12-57.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-12-11.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This white building is Maya Devi Temple, no photo is allowed inside the temple, but beside the \u2018Ground Zero\u2019 where Buddha was born and some old sculptures, there is nothing worth seeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-20-50.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/nepal_2013\/2013-10-16-15-13-22.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to Maya Devi Temple is a stone pillar named \u2018Pillar of Ashoka\u2019, which gives evidence that Ashoka, emperor of the Maurya Empire, visited here in 3rd-century BCE and identified here as the birth-place of the Buddha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\"
