The lake is a popular tourist destination, and several shops, restaurants and resort hotels are located at the township of Lake Tekapo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-30-03.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-52-15.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Close to the Church of the Good Shepherd is a well-known bronze statue of a New Zealand Collie sheepdog. Clay for the model came from Temuka, with a plaster cast of it made and sent to London in 1966, then the statue was moved back to New Zealand after it was cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-13-27.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-15-15.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The statue was commissioned by Mackenzie Country residents in recognition of the indispensable role of the sheepdog in their livelihoods, a memorial for those unsung heroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-13-30.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-08-30.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a shopping street in the township, although Lake Tekapo is a tourist area, the goods here are not expensive, out of Choumeizai\u2019s expectation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-28-15.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-29-39.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are tables and clean toilets at the lakeside, all visitors can enjoy picnics here, good for families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-52-56.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-52-23.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to worry even though you haven\u2019t brought food, there is a big supermarket with plenty of choices in the township, don\u2019t miss their barbecue chicken, it smells so good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-11-14-39.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-11-11-34.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>By the way, with such excellent scenery, Choumeuzai is so sure that you can eat anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/newzealand_2019\/20190908-10-55-39.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/oceania\/travel_newzealand_19_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Zealand's Purity 2019 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lake Tekapo is located at Mackenzie Basin in the South Island of New Zealand.
