The courtyard was founded by overseas Chinese in 1931, and it was one of the shooting locations of Chinese movie \u2018Let the bullets fly (Chinese:\u8b93\u5b50\u5f48\u98db)\u2019 turning it into a popular tourist destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-14-55-53.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-04-18.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The courtyard has 108 old buildings which are only two to three floors, the buildings have formed a big rectangle, there is a big open space in the middle which serves as a market, the whole courtyard looks like a small square castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-14-54-27.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-14-38-37.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Since more than half of the owners of the courtyard surnamed Mei(\u6885), it was named \u2018Mei\u2019s Grand Courtyard\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-25-17.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-25-32.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When the owners designed Mei\u2019s Grand Courtyard, they put the architectural style of the country where they sojourn in the buildings, while some of the elements of Chinese traditions were also preserved, so the buildings look half European and half Chinese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-01-56.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-14-51-01.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many stalls in the open space of the courtyard selling snacks and local products, looks like a small shopping mall, quite interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-31-51.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-19-04.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Suddenly, Choumeizai thinks of a Hong Kong movie named \u2018Kung Fu hustle (Chinese: \u529f\u592b)\u2019, Choumeizai misses Hong Kong movie so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/images-webp\/guangdong_2015\/2015-02-19-15-27-47.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetravel.me\/china_taiwan\/travel_guangdong_15_00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Year's China Town 2015 (Chinese only)<\/a><\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mei\u2019s Grand Courtyard (Chinese:\u6885\u5bb6\u5927\u9662) is located at Taishan (Chinese:\u53f0\u5c71)  of Guangdong Province (Chinese:\u5ee3\u6771), China.
